The Clinic is located in the Vistahermosa residential area, in the outskirts of Alicante.
It has good connections with the city center, near beaches, and with A-7 Highway, which allows an easy access for patients of any origin.

The characteristics of Instituto Bernabeu and the surrounding areas allow for parking spaces right next to the Clinic.

The environment, pleasant and peaceful, as well as our facilities, are ideal to undertake our activity on the best conditions for patients.

Instituto Bernabeu´s new building is divided in three functional areas clearly differenced from one another: external visits, surgery/hospitalization, and auxiliary.

This space partition is based on the presence of dependencies that demand a high level of intimacy (doctor’s office, examination rooms, and hospitalization rooms) and restricted areas like laboratories, operating rooms with other public and open areas. All this in an obligatory co-existence in a center of near two square meters of total surface.

On the ground floor you can find the doctors’ offices and administration, on the first floor operating rooms and hospitalization, while the underground floor is destined to laboratories, X-ray unit, biology department, and rest of the services of Instituto Bernabeu.

Two semi-open patios descend to the lowest height of the building to give natural light and ventilation to the underground floor as well as to have direct contact with live vegetation.

In this way, we manage to subtract a complete floor to the total height of the building, achieving a more appropriate scale with the residential surroundings.

All volumes and materials have been developed with the purpose of accomplishing a relaxed and pleasant environment.

An architecture that looks forward to establish, far from its own prominence, a relation of extreme complicity with the user, in a delicate equilibrium between the amicable and domestic image that is intended, and its identification as a clearly public building.

The architects that have designed and developed this building are Javier García Solera and Dolores Alonso. Instituto Bernabeu´s building was a IberFAD Award finalist in 1998.
